Brad Pitt’s daughter Zahara legally drops his surname

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, has legally removed her father’s surname after a Los Angeles judge approved her petition to change her name.

The 21-year-old is now officially known as Zahara Marley Jolie, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE and other media outlets.

The name change from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt was approved on September 28, 2026, after no objections were filed against the petition.

Zahara had applied earlier this year to remove “Pitt” from her surname and had already been publicly using Zahara Marley Jolie before the court approval, including during her graduation from Spelman College in May.

She becomes the third of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s six children to legally drop their father’s surname, following siblings Shiloh and Maddox.

Her sister, Vivienne, has also filed a petition seeking to change her name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, with a court hearing scheduled for November 2.

Pitt, 62, and Jolie, 51, have six children: Maddox, 25; Pax, 22; Zahara, 21; Shiloh, 20; and 18-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The former couple met while working on the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith and began dating that year. They married in 2014 but separated two years later, before their divorce was finalised in December 2024.
